Annual Sports Day - 2024

*Annual Sports Day Report – Ruchika High School, Bhubaneswar* On the 10th of February, 2024, Ruchika High School in Bhubaneswar, celebrated its
Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event was graced by distinguished personalities, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

*Chief Guest:*
Shri Arup Mohan Patnaik, Retd. IPS, former Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, honored the event with his presence as the Chief Guest, inspiring all with his remarkable achievements and words of wisdom.

*Guest of Honour:*
Accompanying him was Major General Blhabani S. Das, along with his wife, who attended as the Guest of Honour, lending their support and encouragement to the participants. 

*Special Guest:*
Adding to the dignified presence was Mrs. Kshyama Nayak Dhal, the esteemed eldest sister of our Principal, Mrs. Leena Khurana, gracing the occasion as a Special Guest, further elevating the significance of the event.

*Regrettable Absence:*
Regrettably, the Directors, Mr. Gurpreet Singh Khurana, and the Principal, Mrs. Leena Khurana, were unable to attend due to prior commitments requiring them to be out of station. Their absence was noted, and their presence was missed throughout the festivities.

*Event Highlights:*
The event commenced with an impressive March Past by the students representing the four houses, setting the tone for the day’s celebrations. This was followed by the solemn taking of the Oath by all the leaders, symbolizing their commitment to sportsmanship and fair play.

The students, from both the Pre-School and High School sections, showcased their talents through various drills and performances, captivating the audience with their skills and dedication.

The main athletic events and races were held at the renowned Kalinga Stadium, providing a fitting venue for the students to exhibit their athletic prowess and compete with sportsmanship and camaraderie.

The culmination of the day’s events was marked by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where the deserving students were acknowledged and rewarded for their achievements and efforts. Additionally, the prestigious Annual Awards were bestowed upon the outstanding performers, recognizing their excellence and contributions to sports at Ruchika High School.

In conclusion, the Annual Sports Day at Ruchika High School was a resounding success, thanks to the collective efforts of the students, teachers, and staff, along with the esteemed guests who graced the occasion. It served as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic development and the promotion of sportsmanship and camaraderie among its students.

TEACHER'S DAY

It was an auspicious day for students, to celebrate Teacher’s Day which marks the birth of the great teacher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Teacher is defined as a Motivational candle of student’s life.
By this view we are the students of class IX organized a dance performance on 5th September 2022.

CISCE NATIONAL GAMES & SPORTS – 2023

FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT (UNDER 19 - BOYS)

HOSTED BY – RUCHIKA HIGH SCHOOL – OR054 (ORISSA REGION)

It was wonderful initiative taken by Ruchika High School, OR054, Odisha Region, to host the CISCE National Games and Sports – 2023; Football Tournament Under 19 (Boys) for 6th October, 2023 to 8th October,2023. There were total 13 teams from thirteen different regions of India, and also included team from U.A.E. Total nineteen matches were played. The venue for all the matches were Bhubaneswar Football Academy in Unit -1,
Bhubaneswar.

The event began with the inaugural ceremony on 6th October,2023. It was followed by lighting up the auspicious lamp, an odishi performance, a sambalpuri colourful dance, and the introduction of the teams.

The Principal of Ruchika High School, Mrs.Leena Khurana; and the Chairman/Director, Mr.Gurpreet Singh Khurana took all the initiative to host this event entirely. The host school arranged every detail from the lodging
of the teams, food, and every other necessity. All the teachers, staff were actively on duty for all the days to look into the smooth execution of the
event.

The eminent guests present during these event were Mrs.Abira Das, CISCE Observer; Sr. Selvie, Regional Sports Coordinator, Mr.Basant
Kumar Tripathy, Principal of Venkateswar English Medium School and E.C. Member; Brother John Thomas, Member Sub Committee Regional
Sports, Odisha, Sr. Dorret and other E.C. Members.

The last day of the event came to an end with the closing ceremony and the distribution of prizes to the winning team and the Runners Up Team.

The final match of the day was between Maharashtra and Kerala, and Maharashtra won and was declared the Champion for the year – 2023.
